How we handle your personal data.

This privacy policy explains how KI-EL GmbH (in formation) processes personal data on this website. It follows the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (revFADP).

2. What personal data we process

Visiting the website

When you open the website, our hosting provider (see section 4) processes technical access data in server log files, for example the IP address, date and time, the page requested, the amount of data transferred and information about your browser and device. This data is needed to run and secure the website. We do not analyse it ourselves.

Contact form

If you use the contact form, we process the details you enter: your name, email address, message, the service you choose and, if you provide it, your phone number. We also process your consent and the language of the page you sent the form from. A hidden field in the form protects against automated requests (spam).

When you send the form, the details are transferred to the form service Web3Forms (web3forms.com), which forwards them by email to info@ki-el-gmbh.ch. The connection to Web3Forms is only made when you send the form, not when you open the page.

Email and phone

If you contact us by email or phone, we process the information you give us, for example your name, contact details and the content of your request.

You do not have to give us any personal data. Without the required fields in the form (name, email address, message and consent), however, we cannot accept a request through the form.

3. Purposes of the processing

We process personal data for the following purposes:

  • operating, securing and stabilising the website;
  • handling and answering your requests, for example preparing a quote;
  • protecting against misuse and spam;
  • meeting legal obligations.

By sending the contact form you consent to your details being processed for these purposes. You can withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future.

4. Hosting, disclosure and processing abroad

This website is hosted by Netlify, Inc. (USA). Netlify delivers the website and keeps the server log files. In doing so, Netlify processes personal data on our behalf. You can find more information in Netlify's privacy policy.

The contact form runs through the service Web3Forms. Web3Forms receives the form data and forwards it to us by email on our behalf. You can find more information in Web3Forms' privacy policy.

Through Netlify and Web3Forms, personal data may reach the USA and other countries, including countries whose level of data protection does not correspond to Swiss law. In that case we rely on suitable safeguards, for example standard contractual clauses.

Form requests are forwarded by email to info@ki-el-gmbh.ch and processed there by our email provider. Beyond that, we only pass on personal data if this is necessary to handle your request or if we are legally required to do so.

5. Cookies, analytics and fonts

This website does not set any cookies itself and uses no analytics, tracking or advertising tools. The fonts (Cinzel and Jost) are delivered by this website itself; no data is sent to font providers such as Google Fonts. No videos, social media content or other third-party content is embedded.

6. Map and external links

The map on the contact page is an image stored on this website. When you open the page, no data is sent to Google or OpenStreetMap. The map data comes from OpenStreetMap (© OpenStreetMap contributors, ODbL licence).

Only when you click "Open in Google Maps" do you leave our website: Google Maps opens in a new tab or in the maps app on your device, and Google then receives data such as your IP address. Google's privacy policy applies. The same goes for the link to the OpenStreetMap licence below the map and for other external links.

7. Retention

We keep requests and correspondence for as long as needed to handle your request and any cooperation, or as long as legal retention obligations require. After that we delete the data. The requests are kept in our email mailbox. Web3Forms and Netlify process data according to their own rules (see their privacy policies), Netlify also the server log files.

8. Data security

The website is transmitted encrypted over HTTPS. We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against unauthorised processing. Nobody can guarantee completely secure data transmission over the internet.

9. Your rights

Under the revFADP you have the right in particular to:

  • request information about whether and which personal data we process about you;
  • have incorrect personal data corrected;
  • request the deletion or destruction of your personal data;
  • request that your personal data is handed over or transferred;
  • object to the processing;
  • withdraw consent you have given at any time with effect for the future.

Please contact the address in section 10. To check your request we may ask for proof of your identity. You can also lodge a complaint with the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC).
